An Introduction to Software Safety

Software Safety is an area of System Safety that is often glossed over in all but the largest or most critical systems. Some feel that software safety is difficult or extremely expensive. In many projects, the whole idea of software safety is avoided if at all possible. However, even small or low-criticality systems can benefit from a software safety program, if it is tailored to meet the needs of the project. This paper provides an overview of a software safety process for system safety engineers.
