摘要

Patients in hospitals in Fortaleza have been constant victims of attacks by bacteria and viruses resistant to drugs with high dosages that are developed by the indiscriminate use of drugs at the health clinics. These pathogens are responsible for about 41.8% of infections in burn patients admitted to public hospitals considered references in the area of burns, and contribute significantly to the delay in treatment and development of sequelae in subjects exposed to these threats. Patients who are burn victims are more susceptible to attack by microorganisms, since the surface layer and the protective skin is damaged, serving as a gateway to the development of infections that can lead to death. The data collected indicate a greater recurrence of infection in the bloodstream, which can be caused by the patient's own frailty, but also by improper handling and contamination of the equipment for the treatment of burns. With these data in the Center for Infection Control, linked to programs for Environmental Management, established internal rules that would enable a safe and aseptic environment to address more intensively the burn patients, providing the restoration of health of the subjects treated in referral hospital with a lower cost to government coffers.
