摘要

A resistance- or inductance-based saliency is a requirement for signal injection based self-sensing position estimation methods. A concept of applying short-circuited windings on the rotor of an electrical machine for influencing the differential quantities will be investigated. Hereinafter, this concept will be examined with and without permanent magnets on the rotor of a synchronous machine by evaluating the differential quantities gained by measurement and simulation. The presented simulation setup using finite element analysis including the frozen permeabilty method, will be compared to the measurement results. Finally, the additional copper losses of the short-circuited windings will be compared to the I2R-losses of the machine in the operating area to evaluate the practicality of the concept.
