Green ship technology is increasingly important in different areas of ship design. Hydrodynamic optimization shape design is an integral part of the overall fuel economy design. To get the optimal design, the geometry modification of ship takes extremely important place in an optimization loop. A conventional non-parametric approach has numerous disadvantages because the geometry is typically generated by low-level entities. In this study, a new bulbous bow modification method was developed for automatic generation and modification of a bulbous bow. A bulbous bow represented by the Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline (NURBS) surfaces. The generated bulbous bow can be automatically modified. In this study, Grasshopper is applied to generate and reconstruct a parametric bulbous bow. And attach the generated bulbous bow to a fixed hull automatically.
