In active rectifiers the diodes are replaced by transistors whose gates are controlled by a comparator. The power consumption of these comparators mainly depends on its bias current and working frequency and is not directly scaled with the output power. Therefore, to achieve high efficiency at light loads, the comparator power consumption should be addressed. In this paper, an active rectifier with an output power of 1.37 mW was designed and simulated in a 130nm CMOS technology achieving an efficiency of 95.7%. Each comparator consumes only 3.7 μW and has a feedback loop that automatically compensates the comparator delay in both edges.
