摘要

Optimal relay settings are the key factors to ensure proper coordination among various over current relays (OCR) in a distribution system. These issues have become more crucial in the context of “Smart Grid” environment with renewable energies as distributed generation (DG) sources. This paper proposes a smart algorithm for adaptive settings of digital OCR to guarantee proper harmonization among OCRs. The emulation results clearly demonstrate its suitability to fulfill these tasks. The proposed hardware friendly algorithm promises an encouraging future as an Intelligent Electronic Device (IED) when implemented on an embedded platform.
