摘要

The problem of diffraction by a perfectly conducting strongly elongated spheroid is considered asymptotically at high-frequency approximation by the parabolic equation method. The field in the boundary layer near the surface is represented as the sum of the forward and backward waves. These wave encircle the highly-curved domains near the ends of the spheroid, which is seen in the frame of the parabolic equation method as multiple reflections from the tips. The asymptotic formulas for the induced currents are presented and compared with the results obtained numerically.
