摘要

In this work, the dual-band optically switchable modulator is proposed and demonstrated to efficient dynamic control of transmission optical properties of terahertz (THz) radiation. The device represents a graphene/aluminum cross-shaped structure. The modulator resonance frequencies can be switched easily by varying the intensity of optical pumping. The simulation is implemented using finite element method and surface conductivity model of graphene. Moreover, the modulator has high speed of operating and resonant dips in transmission spectra have high Q-factor and large modulation depth, that indicates the enormous potential of such structure for developing sophisticated THz communication systems.
