摘要

In this paper, we propose and demonstrate a novel single-sideband direct detection transmission system based on orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) format in a multi-core fiber (MCF). The experimental results show that the signal-signal beat interference (SSBI) can be successfully estimated using balanced photodiode (BPD) in 100-Gb/s direct detection optical OFDM transmission system after 10km 7-core fiber transmission. Compared with the conventional pilot-supported direct detection optical scheme, no guard band is required that the efficiency of the receiver electrical bandwidth is much enhanced.
