More than 2.2% of total population in India is suffering from one or the other kind of disability, of which 0.6% were disabled in motor movements. These people suffering from many incurable disabilities have to be dependent on others and are even rendered helpless at times, making it difficult for them to live. Disabled people with severe neuromuscular disorders such as brainstem stroke, brain or spinal-cord injury, cerebral palsy etc. wish for basic communication to express themselves and live independently. Home rehabilitation offers benefits such as convenience, reduced stresses, personalized care. It also improves overall confidence of patient which can speed-up his/her recovery. This paper presents a novel configurable signal acquisition system for multiple Bio-signal measurements. This assistive technology for home rehabilitation can be used to acquire ECG, EMG and EEG signals. It also incorporates LabVIEW based filtering and feature extraction tool. This acquired data can directly be transferred to the doctor who can then help in early timely treatment and diagnosis of disease. The proposed bioelectric data acquisition system can be a boon leading to a better, efficient and cost effective measure for home rehabilitation.
