A feasibility study of solar lighting system for street vendors in Kerala

摘要

The feasibility study of standalone solar system for street vendors in Kerala is conducted by comparing the standalone system with the current system used by the vendors. The current electrical infrastructure of street vendors, their requirements and major challenges faced are gathered from a field survey. The standalone solar systems in the current market that meets the vendor requirements are considered for the study. The study infers standalone solar systems is a better alternative for sustainable development of the vendors but can be economically feasible if subsidies on solar systems or payment by installation is provided to the vendors.
