摘要

Due to the increase in student as well as institutional staff population in educational campuses and the increase in exposure with the outside world on the members of the educational campus, there is a growing concern towards a very crucial factor of any educational campus, that is, security for all the members, namely students and the staff. Maintaining security and safety, and realizing a sense of comfort to every entity present in and around the campus is the responsibility of the administration body of the campuses. This paper aims to analyze the various vulnerabilities that challenge the existing security system at campuses and to design an appropriate system embedded with small working units that helps in solving issues related to security at campuses using the platform of Internet of Things. The above mentioned goals and objectives are proposed with the help of a case study of a Women’s University. It also aims to explain technologies like RFID system for registered vehicle number plate (RVNP) identification, IP cameras and alert system using short messaging service (SMS).
