Cause of process starvation for linux completely fair scheduler with apache server

摘要

Process starvation is a common, critical and challenging problem when sharing CPU resources for any operating system. Starvation in Operating System can lead to a long response time. In this paper we study the process starvation of Compute Intensive Process while an Apache Server is running. This is proved by the various system settings of the Linux Kernel Completely Fair Scheduler. The causes of starvation is studied and presented experimentally.
