摘要

Millimeter wave band generally ranges from 30 GHz to 300 GHz, the extra-high frequency (EHF) band, with wavelength 1-10 mm. This paper intends to focus on the properties and performance of the millimeter wave communication in order to evaluate the possibilities of using mm-wave band in 5G communications and as a solution for bandwidth shortage. The aim is to develop a modulation technique for mm-wave transmission so as to provide very high efficiency in data transmission, i.e., less BER rate and higher SNR rate. This paper provides a comparison of performance of millimeter wave systems under 256-QAM and 512-QAM modulation techniques.
