One of the high data rate wireless technology is MIMO OFDM which employs multiple subcarriers for parallel transmission. At the transmitter side, the orthogonal subcarriers are produced using IFFT block. These orthogonal subcarriers helps to overcome ISI and ICI, it provides better spectral efficiency, etc. But if orthogonal property is not maintained properly among subcarriers it leads to Peak to Average Power (PAPR) problem. This problem causes inefficient amplification and requires expensive transmitter. In this paper PAPR is reduced by a statistical technique called modified Partial Transmit sequence which employs DCT and helical interleaver before it. Here DCT and interleaver is used to reduce the similarity among data bits. The simulation result shows that the proposed methods reduces PAPR compared to conventional PTS technique.
