摘要

A microwave metallic photonic crystal modified with lumped elements is designed for the development of an RF-probe. The simulated resonance frequency of the probe at 4.83 GHz was found closer to the measured frequency at 4.56 GHz. The applicability of the RF-probe has been demonstrated for the characterization of different average size of gold nanoparticles ranging from 4.84 nm to 13.54 nm. The proposed RF-probe can be effectively used in the colorimetric assays of gold nanoparticles for the quantification of the specific analyte.
