In this paper, a low-cost and real-time remote monitoring system is proposed to continuously monitor the output performance and operation status of the distributed wind power plant. This system is based on the LoRa network to monitor those parameters related to the output performance and operation status of the wind turbine. The man-machine interface is designed with LabVIEW software to monitor the measured data of output voltage, output current, output power, wind speed, the rotational speed of the wind turbine, vibration analysis of bearing operation, bearing operating noise analysis and operating temperature distribution of the wind turbine. The monitoring node for wind power generator use the LoRa long-distance transmission protocol to transfer data to realize the regional wind power generator data transmission and monitoring. The functionality and the behavior of this proposed system are validated by a series of tests. Test results have proven that this proposed system is capable of completely monitoring the output performance and operation status of each wind turbine.
