摘要

This paper proposes a double layer rectangular microstrip patch antenna array for ISM band applications. The proposed antenna gives higher gain and directivity maintaining same size as single layer rectangular microstrip patch antenna (RMPA) array. Design and simulations are done at center frequency 5.8 GHz in CST software. The gain and directivity of RMPA is 9.42 dB and 9.56 dBi respectively. Whereas 10.30 dB gain and 10.48 dBi directivity are obtained from double layer RMPA array. This significant improved performance of double layer rectangular microstrip patch antenna array can be used in WLAN applications and real time implementation.
