Hidden energy in the classical electrodynamics of dipolar media

摘要

It is proven that “hidden energy” is exhibited by permanent Amperian magnetic dipoles rotating in applied fields that makes the total energy supplied to the Amperian dipoles equal to that supplied to magnetic-charge dipoles. This result leads to different expressions for the energy supplied to macroscopic magnetization in diamagnetic and paramagnetic media.
