摘要

Load frequency control (LFC) is major issue in the field of power system engineering. The primary reason behind to do a study on LFC is to maintain the balance between generated power and demand of consumer without compromising any deviation in the nominal frequency and schedule tie-line power. This paper deals with application of classical controller like linear quadratic regulator (LQR) and differential evolution (DE) algorithm based optimized conventional controllers to analyze the performance of LFC on two area thermal-thermal non-reheat power system model. The effect of high voltage direct current on studied power system model is also analyzed.
