The need for higher bandwidth along with lesser power and reduced losses are some of the great reasons behind the innovation of optical fiber. Although optical fiber has great efficiency itself but it also accumulates some of the losses like that of linear and non linear losses which are directly linked with the magnitude of the transmitted power. There are two ways of reducing the optical impairments, one is using dispersion compensation techniques and other one is the implementation of low negative dispersion optical fiber i.e. metrocor fiber. This paper is about the removal of optical non-linearities with the help of metrocor fiber at varying lengths of 50 ¿¿¿ 750 km using minimum power of 0 dBm. The relationship between quality factor and bit error rate (BER) is shown for 16 Gbps data transmission at varying metrocor optical fiber length, accompanied by the constant values of continuous wave (CW) laser, erbium doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) and low pass bessel filter throughout the research.
