The impedance of cables is crucial in aircraft power system, it can affect the system performance characteristics. The cables impedance is influenced by power supply frequency and wiring mode, due to skin effect and proximity effect. In this paper the impedance characteristics of two parallel cables in aircraft power system are studied through the co-simulation with a Maxwell 2D finite element model of the cables and Simplorer models of other circuit components. The impedance of the cable under test is calculated by the co-simulation model. The impedance variations of the cable under test are obtained with the changes of power frequency, amplitude and phase of the current flowing through the adjacent cable. The causes of the impedance variations are analyzed by using the space vector method and current density distribution, magnetic flux distribution within and around the cable under test.
