The recent development in the large domain of theInternet of Things is driving conventional change in Vehicle AdhocNetworks, now known as Internet of Vehicles (IOV), Vehicleto-Vehicle (V2V), Vehicle-to-Infrastructure(V2I) and someIntelligent Transport System (ITS) applications will require verylow latency, much lower than is currently provided by existingcommunication networks. The connected vehicles market will beextremely large in terms of number of connected end-points anddata exchanged. Over time, any vehicles will be given thepotential to connect to anything at anytime, from people tophysical things, processes, contents, working knowledge, timelypertinent information and goods of all sorts in entirely flexible, reliable and secure ways. 5G communications will expand thepossibilities of what mobile networks can do, and extend uponwhat services they can deliver. 5G will provide the foundationalinfrastructure for building smart IOV Environment, which willpush vehicle network performance and capability requirementsto their extremes. This paper proposes the advantages of using5G communication model for future implementation of IOVenvironment in term of low latency, extremely high bandwidthand reliability.
