Studying the fault power cable shielded plug-type uncharged separable connector, considering the construction technology, design technology and material properties, the tests were designed for the sample to find out the reasons. With the compare of the size verification between the connector tested and mainstream products, the advantages and disadvantages of the connector tested could be acquired. Then electrical tests on the sample were done to verify the electrical performance of the sample. Firstly, withstand-voltage test and partial discharge test were studied for detect the connector main insulation. Secondly, the shield resistance and shielding leakage current test were designed to study the semi-conductive performance. Thirdly, testing the shield resistance after aging, the performance of connector running for a long time was analyzed. Finally, using moist air to simulate the operating environment, the shield leakage current was test to judge the product performance. According to the tests, the reasons of the shielded plug-type uncharged separable connector fault could be found.
