This paper describes the operation of a time-variant slope compensated peak current mode control (PCMC) for boost converter with POL configuration. The limitations of PCMC are minimized by introducing time-variant slope compensation and the effect of the RHP zero of boost converter is minimized by a type II compensator. The proposed work is evaluated and illustrated with wide range of line and load changes. Experimental results are presented for input range of 25V- 60V and load change of 0.6A - 2A with 400W power output at 10 kHz switching frequency. The transient response obtained is 25ms (250 cycles) for output voltage and the corresponding switch current stabilizes in 10ms (100 cycles) for 100% load changes respectively.
