Application of an alternative methodology for evaluating power quality monitors

This paper presents the results obtained from the application of an alternative methodology for the evaluation of the functional performance of PQ monitors. For that, a procedure which includes the metrological and technical aspects of each of the electric power quality parameters required by IEC 61000-4-30 was applied on a class S device. This is accomplished by running three test types as well as using the ISO-GUM. In applying this methodology, irregular features of the tested equipment are identified while considering the IEC 61000-4-30 requirements.
