The creation of mine plans and the continuous supervision of its execution go hand-in-hand to make sure that the operation stays on target, so that maximum mine productivity and profitability can be achieved. At Sierrita, there are established systems in place to monitor the performance of the operation. Some of these systems were described in this document and include graphical and analytical reports that help understand how the operation performed against what was planned. However, achieving operational excellence requires not only a safe working environment, good mine plans and effective monitoring systems, but also skilled geologists, engineers, operators and supervisors. Likewise, effective communication among these groups of professionals and departments is vital for the operation to realize its plans. Lastly, the business environment is constantly changing and so the mine plans and the mine operation have to stay flexible in order to adapt to change and constantly remap its course as new information is gathered and updated.
