Isolated current fed converter with voltage doubler for fuel cell applications

A new high-efficient, low cost isolated current fed half bridge converter with voltage doubler has been proposed. The proposed converter providing applications for fuel cells which will be interfaced to front end dc/dc conversion part. This proposed converter with greinacher voltage doubling circuit provides simple and efficient operating conditions. The proposed converter is less complicated compare to other active clamped current fed converters and other converters due its less snubber-less working operation. Though the circuit causes problem of over-sizing it stays advantageous in terms of simple operation, low cost compare to recent ZCS current fed half bridge isolated dc/dc converter and active clamped ZVS current fed converters. Explanation and analyzing of the new converter operation has been done with a procedure for the design of its key components. Converter has been verified for varies operating conditions for its efficiency analysis.
