Big data and its applicatios

Today, field of Information Technology is witnessing an unprecedented growth. Such growth is leading to generation of colossal amount of data e.g. facebook alone has over 40 petabytes of data and constantly generating more and more of it. Existing data storage models such as Relational or RDBMS were never designed to handle such massive amount of data. This led to designing of completely new models viz. NoSQL and NewSQL. This talk will discuss how these new data storage systems came into picture and when to use them with the help of some real world examples.
