Key Technologies for Shale Gas Exploration and Production

摘要

Shale gas is a natural gas produced from shale with ultra-low permeability.It will play an important role as one prospective unconventional fossil energy because of the increasing worldwide demands for energy.The paper demonstrates how the integration of many disciplines such as geology,seismics,well-logging,petrophysics,reservoir engineering,drilling and completion engineering,petroleum engineering and surface facilities engineering and operations are important to success to shale gas exploration and development.The key technologies and challenges needed to overcome in the fields of shale gas exploration and development are presented and analyzed.
