In this paper,we have researched the electricity generation of Spirulina platensis’ microbial fuel cells built by ourselves with several different light conditions.We obtained an open circuit output voltage of 600mV,and a closed circuit (1000Ω) output voltage of 110mV.In light and dark alternating tests,we found that the open circuit potential increased in dark conditions and decreased under light conditions,while the closed circuit potential decreased in dark conditions and rise under light conditions,thus forming opposite cyclical changes.Combined with the biological principles,we can infer that the power generation performances of open-circuit cell are controlled by the respiration of algae,while the power generation performances of closed-circuit cell are controlled by photosynthesis.
