Direct estimation of kinetic parameters in the PET reconstruction process offers the possibility of improving the kinetic parameter estimation in comparison with standard graphical kinetic analysis. However such techniques have never been proposed for lung cancer studies since the respiratory motion might significantly hamper the estimation of the kinetic parameter. The aim of this study is to combine within a unique reconstruction algorithm the Patlak kinetic model associated with a respiratory motion correction for dynamic PET imaging in FDG lung cancer.
