Gain enhancement of UWB antennas with and without band notch feature

High gain antennas are often used in communication systems to meet specific coverage requirements. This paper presents the gain enhancement technique for UWB antennas. Two reference UWB antennas are considered and their gain has been increased by 2.4dB using parasitic patch in stacked arrangement. The band notch UWB antenna has also been shown to show this increase in gain in the pass band. Finally, the reflector is added which further increase the gain by 5.91dB.
