The paper considers the development of mobile learning in higher education of the Russian Federation. We analyzed the scientific works of Russian scientists who study the use of mobile technologies in higher schools. We found that the implementation of mobile learning in Russia started primarily through various projects of mobile learning systems and extensive use of SMS for the dissemination of educational information. In most cases, mobile learning is perceived as a part of distance education system. In general, the development of mobile learning is still at the beginning stage and requires further in-depth studies.
