The application of wireless sensor networks for off-shore oil and gas installations

Nowadays, according to the production and management on the offshore oil and gas platforms, the wireless sensor networks(WSNs) will have different reply to the platforms. For the offshore Oil and Gas platforms, switching from wired to wireless sensors, allowing data collection in remote or hostile areas. Reliability, power consumption and standard are three most important concerns that related to the wireless sensor networks. Experiments have been performed to determine whether currently available technologies fulfill relevant requirements.
