The development of China's economy is restricted by high energy consuming of construction and low efficiency of energy use. Recently, China pays great attention to energy conservation. External thermal insulation technology plays more and more important role in building energy conservation. By using this technology, building envelope insulation performance can be improved, energy can be saved and wall structure can also be improved which extends the life of building envelope. So it is worthy to further promoting the use of the external thermal insulation technology. This paper discusses the advantages of this technology. After listing and analyzing the advantages of external thermal insulation, it is found its advantages are the most outstanding, so external thermal insulation should become the major style of wall thermal insulation and the direction of wall thermal insulation of energy conservation buildings.
