High speed optical interconnect based on grating coupler assisted silicon nitride waveguides

A data transmission of 10 Gbps per channel has been demonstrated through 8 parallel Si3N4 waveguides, fibercoupled with grating couplers at 1575 nm. This reveals their good potential for use as practical short-distance optical interconnects.
