KRALOVOPOLSKY TUNNEL IN BRNO, CZECH REPUBLIC

摘要

The Kralovopolsky Tunnel is a road tunnel driven in neogenous clays, i.e., in difficultrnground, with low rock cover and a densely built-up area on the surface. The projectrninvolves two tunnel tubes 1.25 kilometres long, with adjacent subterranean technologicalrnspace. The excavation was carried out by sequential method with face divided intornsix partial excavations using heavy steel girders and shotcrete as initial support. Anrnarray of auxiliary measures such as compensation grouting, pipe roofs and jet groutingrnscreens was used, as well as extensive monitoring. The project has been going onrnsince 2006, opening is planned for 2012. The paper summarizes the tunnelling methodrnused and the gained experience.
