摘要

This paper focuses on the problem of solid waste mamagement at Khao-Yai National Park's Campsite. Khao-Yai National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site, recognized for the biodiversity and wildlife in the rainforest. The park is among the reserves. The large stream of visitors to KYNP has generated physical, cultural, natural, social and economic impacts, thereby posing significant challenges to its proper administration. One such detrimental impact is the accumulation of solid waste and its effects on the physical, environmental and cultural features of the Park. This paper uses a "triangular data analysis" as its methodology involving; documentation from various sources (including scholarly publications, previous plans, other Action Plan documents) about solid waste disposal; observation from the site visit and photos; and interviewed with key actors, including administrators , officers and tourists. The collected data was used to formulate an Action Plan that proceeds according to five overarching strategies. Policy: Regulatory and Organizational Measures, Immediate Action Steps and Measures; Motivation Measures; Public Awareness Enhancement and Education Measures; and Research and Development Measures. The result showed that a viable solid waste disposal system and infrastructure has become an urgent measure to be addressed. Various disposal streams and systems for addressing them are discussed. In the long term management strategy there is a need for motivation, public awareness, education, research and development in order to preserve and protect the wildlife and biodiversity in KYNP.
