摘要

Aims: To wonder whether endomorphin 1(EM1), the antioxidative peptide, can protect against the renal toxicology of cadmium (Cd), whose mechanism probably related to the oxidative stress. Methods: In vivo assays, such as the measurement of oxidative damage parameters and the index of antioxidative system, have been designed and performed, Result: Data from our study demonstrated the effect of EMI could lower the increased concentration of lipid peroxidation and protein carboxylation products, in addition to increase the content of antioxidative system. Conclusion: Our study demonstrated the nephrotoxicity induced by Cd can be suppressed by the treatment of EMI, we also explored the possible relationship between the structure properties of EMI and its antioxidative capacity.
