摘要

CO2 laser is considered as a fantastic laser source for its high output power, excellent monochromaticity and coherence in applications mentioned above. Attenuated total reflectance (ATR) hollow waveguide has advantages of simple structure, no end reflection, small beam divergence and good transmission modes. Sapphire, SiC, GeO2 or germanate glass ATR hollow waveguides have been studied for delivery of CO2 laser light. Single-crystal growth, melt-drawing fiber, Chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and Sol-Gel methods have been developed for preparation of these hollow waveguides. In this paper we reported a liquid phase deposition (LPD) method for fabricating GeO2 ATR hollow waveguides. GeO2 waveguides were deposited from aqueous germanate ion solutions with different GeO2 concentrations. The fabrication, structures, morphologies and transmission properties of the waveguide samples were investigated.
