@@ Owing to their distinguished advantages such as good reliability, ease of fabrication, electro-magnetic immunity, high sensitivity, and compactness, fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) have found various applications in the measurement of numerous physical parameters, including temperature, strain, pressure, and vibration, etc. However, for distributed sensing applications, the decrease of light source power for individual sensing unit will inevitably cause the degradation of sensing performance to a large extend. Fortunately, the uprising of fiber laser technology provides good candidates to solve this issue. According to the interrogation method, fiber laser sensors could be classified into wavelength-encoding and polarimetric fiber laser sensors.
