This presentation will discuss portions of the permitting process with the State regulator,rnCalifornia Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the adaptation of the LT2ESTWRrnframework in the 380,000 m3/day Twin Oaks Valley water treatment plant (TOVWTP).rnThis is the largest zero-liquid discharge facility using membrane ultrafiltration, ozone, andrnbiological carbon contactors in operation in North America. Virus removal credits for thernmembrane were awarded based on an extensive pilot-scale challenge testing with surrogaternparticles to determine Cryptosporidium and virus removal at different levels of membranernintegrity (log removal value or LRV). The methodology and results are summarized in thisrnpaper.
