摘要

Forest soil is the loose surface soil which can provide necessary nutrient and moisture for plant growth, and is the important material foundation for the growth of trees and significant part of the forest ecosystems. The forest soil degradation has been increasingly concerned since the academic work of “SOIL DERADATION” published in 1971 by Food and Agriculture Organization. The conception of forest soil degradation was introduced in the review and the degradation mechanism of forest soil was analyzed respectively about plantations and natural forest. At the same time, the influence to the plant growth causing by the forest soil degradation were illustrated. Several domestic and international preventive strategies were introduced, including the biological measures, soil improvement, selecting appropriate tree species and cultivation techniques to prevent forest soil degradation. Therefore, the research of forest soil degradation is significantly important for establishing appropriate cultivation and management measures, improving soil productivity and tree growth.
