摘要

A quantitative remote sensing method for monitoring soil losses is introduced briefly and its operations and result of its application to small valleys in Gannan mountain areas of Jiangxi province are described in this paper. Although the form of the model for monitoring soil erosion losses in the method is the same as the RUSEL, the formula and algorithms for model factors generated from loss data observed in china, Therefore, it is more applicable to soil loss regions in china, and personal computers processing data for GIS and remote sensing. The monitoring results of Gannan mountain areas in Jiangxi province show that the QRSM can be used not only use for big valleys(e.g. county or province region),but also for small valley(>7sqkm).
