Development and Application of Hot Rolling Strip of High Grade Pipeline Steel With Extra Thickness

The development of high strength and toughness pipeline steel has been greatly advanced in recent year to meet the demands of long distance and high pressure transportation of nature gas. This study introduced the X70 and X80 hot strip with extra thickness which was designed by low carbon, high niobium alloy system and acicular ferrite (AF) microstructure, and produced by 2150ASP production line in Ansteel. The X70 and X80 strips possess of high strength,high low temperature toughness, excellent weldability and HIC resistance. The pipe made by these strips had been applied to state key pipeline engineering projects in China.
