In this paper, the causes of electrical fires are analyzed. According to a typical low-voltage distribution system, the single-phase ground fault is simulated by means of the software of matlab/simulink, so as to obtain the voltage and current waveforms of the main line and the other kinds of electrical equipments under the single-phase faults including the secondary winding of power transformers, the three-phase electrical equipments, as well as the single-phase electrical equipments. Based on the analysis above, the working conditions and consequences of the electrical equipments with the single-phase faults are analyzed in order to obtain the propagation characteristics of the typical building electrical fires. Meanwhile, it also provides the references for the propagation characteristics of electrical fires.
