The Application of TKS Photo-Catalyst to Urea-Formaldehyde Resin Adhesive

TKS photo-catalyst (TKS) was employed to modify urea-formaldehyde (UF) resin by mixing them and exposing under ultraviolet light or visible light, the TKS modified UF resins was used to prepared plywood, and the properties of the plywood were measured. The results indicated that the plywood prepared with the TKS modified UF resins showed higher bond strength and lower formaldehyde emission than those prepared with the TKS free UF resin.
