In this paper the influence of temperature to the mechanical properties of an acrylic adhesive will be investigated by means of the Dynamic- Mechanical-Analysis (DMA) and will be compared to the shear strength of thick adherend specimens (according to ISO 11003) at elevated temperatures. Therefore DMA-specimens will be loaded at different temperature levels to observe changes in the mechanical properties due to temperature changes. Thus the time and temperature dependent behaviour of the polymer can be related to changes in the stress-strain behaviour of thick adherend specimens at elevated temperatures.
