Based on the previous work we have done, a linearrefractive- index bar model (LRI bar model) was submitted for the purpose to simulate the thermal radiative transfer in a twodimensional graded index semitransparent medium. Combined with the backward Monte Carlo method, this model was employed for apparent emissivity calculation of a twodimensional graded index medium. The results show that we can get better results by LRI bar model than by bar model. Also, this model is more flexible to nonlinear refractive index distribution than the slab model. It is a better approximate model for the study of thermal radiative transfer in twodimensional graded index medium.
